I’ve added five more seasons to the NFL ratings archive. Rankings are now available for every season from 1986 through 2025, giving the site 40 consecutive seasons of NFL history.

Each newly added season includes Power Ratings, Elo Ratings, Adjusted Scoring ratings for offense and defense, Quarterback Efficiency Ratings, and Scrimmage Performance Ratings for running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends.

Newly added NFL seasons

1990: The Giants win a thriller

The New York Giants defeated Buffalo 20-19 in Super Bowl XXV. The Giants finished first in my Power Ratings and Adjusted Defense ratings, while Buffalo led the Adjusted Offense ratings.

Warren Moon tops the Quarterback Efficiency Ratings. The Scrimmage Performance Ratings are led by Barry Sanders at running back, Sterling Sharpe at wide receiver, and Rodney Holman at tight end.

1989: San Francisco leads across the board

San Francisco completed a dominant season with a 55-10 victory over Denver in Super Bowl XXIV. The 49ers finished first in my Power Ratings, Adjusted Offense ratings, and Adjusted Defense ratings.

Joe Montana leads the Quarterback Efficiency Ratings. The Scrimmage Performance Ratings are led by Barry Sanders at running back, Jerry Rice at wide receiver, and Rodney Holman at tight end.

1988: San Francisco wins a late classic

The 49ers defeated Cincinnati 20-16 in Super Bowl XXIII. Cincinnati finished first in my Power Ratings, while Minnesota led the Adjusted Offense ratings and Buffalo ranked first in Adjusted Defense.

Jim Everett tops the Quarterback Efficiency Ratings. The Scrimmage Performance Ratings are led by James Brooks at running back, Eddie Brown at wide receiver, and Jay Novacek at tight end.

1987: Washington captures another championship

Washington defeated Denver 42-10 in Super Bowl XXII. San Francisco finished first in my Power Ratings and Adjusted Defense ratings, while Cleveland led the Adjusted Offense ratings.

Bernie Kosar leads the Quarterback Efficiency Ratings. The Scrimmage Performance Ratings are led by Herschel Walker at running back, Jerry Rice at wide receiver, and Mark Bavaro at tight end.

1986: The Giants finish on top

The New York Giants capped their championship season with a 39-20 win over Denver in Super Bowl XXI. The Giants finished first in my Power Ratings, while Miami led the Adjusted Offense ratings and Chicago ranked first in Adjusted Defense.

Boomer Esiason tops the Quarterback Efficiency Ratings. The Scrimmage Performance Ratings are led by James Brooks at running back, Mark Duper at wide receiver, and Clint Didier at tight end.
