Football Analytics & Rankings 🏈

Welcome to the Football section of JeffSelfSports.

This section publishes power ratings, analytical summaries, and data-driven reports across multiple levels of football, including college, professional, and high school competition. The focus is on measuring team strength, not just wins and losses.

Unlike traditional standings, these ratings evaluate how teams perform in each game and who they perform against. Scoring margin is included, but extreme blowouts are intentionally dampened to prevent teams from gaining disproportionate credit for running up the score against weaker opponents.

The result is a set of rankings designed to answer a simple question:

How strong is this team relative to the rest of the field right now?

  • College Football
Power ratings and season-long analysis across FBS and other college levels.

  • NFL
Professional football ratings and performance summaries.

  • High School Football
Data-driven evaluations of high school teams and results.

How to Use These Ratings

The ratings are best used as a comparative tool within the same season. They are descriptive, not predictive guarantees, and they do not account for injuries, roster changes, or betting lines.
