The ratings are not based on record alone. Scoring margin, strength of schedule and season-long performance can move a team above another club with a similar—or even better—record. Dallas, for example, has played the league’s toughest schedule so far, while New York has played the easiest.
WNBA Regular Season Elo Ratings
Minnesota also remains first in Elo, but Indiana makes the most interesting move. The Fever jump from fourth to second and now sit ahead of Golden State and Atlanta. New York and Las Vegas round out the top 6.
The two models view Indiana a little differently: the season-long power rating has the Fever fifth, while the more results-sensitive Elo rating has them second. That gap reflects Indiana’s recent momentum and gives the Fever a strong case as the team to watch behind Minnesota.
