These ratings are not based on record alone. Scoring margin, opponent strength, and season-long performance all contribute to the order. Golden State is the clearest example: the Valkyries rank second overall despite having the league’s 14th-rated adjusted offense because their defense has been dominant. Dallas has faced the toughest schedule and remains only 0.021 rating points behind Indiana despite having one fewer win.

WNBA Regular Season Elo Ratings

Minnesota also remains first in Elo. Atlanta makes the most notable move, climbing two places to second after improving to 21-10. Indiana slips to third, followed by Golden State, New York, and Las Vegas.

The two models tell a slightly different story near the top. The season-long power ratings still have Golden State second, but the more results-sensitive Elo ratings place Atlanta and Indiana ahead of the Valkyries. Minnesota is the one constant, holding a substantial lead in both systems.
