Here are my weekly rankings for the week ending April 27, 2025. The Mets are off to an incredible start. Kind of mirrors their second half of last year. I wonder if the second half of this season will mirror the first half of last year? As a Mets fan, I kind of expect this. The Tigers had a great week and have moved up to #2 in my rankings. The Giants are third and at some point, we have to start thinking its not a fluke and they are really good. Don’t look now, but the Braves have started to make their move. After a horrible start to the season, they look like they are starting to get it going. Can’t wait to see Acuña back in the lineup later this month or early June.
I expect four of these teams to be in the bottom 5. But the Orioles have to be the biggest disappointment in baseball this season. But they have serious pitching issues and I don’t know if it will get better this year. The Angels have a young team with a fading Mike Trout. He is a shell of his former self. The Pirates have 2 great players in Cruz and Skenes and a bunch of below average players with them. The White Sox and Rockies need new ownership.

Aaron Judge continues to be the best offensive player in baseball. The Mets almost didn’t resign Pete Alonso. Maybe he’s just not as flashy as Soto and Lindor, but he’s the heart and soul of this team. Cedric Mullins is the only bright spot for the Orioles this year.

Paul Skenes is the best pitcher in baseball. Every week he remains in the top 5 and as the season goes on, he should probably rise to number 1 as the pitchers get more starts.
