Philadelphia crushes Kansas City to win Super Bowl LIX!

Philadelphia’s defense dominated Kansas City and their offense did enough to trounce Kansas City 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. The game wasn’t close. In fact, it was 40-6 late in the 4th quarter before Kansas City added two meaningless touchdowns in the last couple of minutes. It was enough of a beating to propel Philadelphia to my #1 ranking in my power ratings. Kansas City finished the year at #3.

The 2024 college football season is in the books. It doesn’t seem right that it took until January 20th to finish the season, but ESPN has decided that college football should be a five month season now. Ohio State got a resounding 34-23 win over Notre Dame last night. They were the preseason favorites but stumbled twice during the regular season. But nothing to worry about. In today’s college football landscape, you can take a few weeks off and still play for a national championship. Right or wrong, that’s the game today.

Buffalo Edges Baltimore in a Snowy Thriller

In a game befitting the postseason, Buffalo and Baltimore delivered an instant classic in the snow. The Bills narrowly escaped with a 27-25 victory, capitalizing on Baltimore’s uncharacteristic mistakes—turnovers and costly dropped passes. It marked the Ravens’ first loss all season in the turnover battle, a testament to how pivotal those miscues were. Buffalo’s resilience in frigid conditions sets the stage for another showdown with Kansas City.

The Stage is Set

We’ve arrived at the pinnacle of the college football season, and tonight marks a historic moment: the first-ever 12-team playoff national championship game. The matchup? A clash of titans between Ohio State, the most successful program in college football history, and Notre Dame, a program that evokes both widespread adoration and animosity in equal measure.

The journey to this game highlights how the expanded playoff has already reshaped the sport. In previous years, Ohio State’s regular-season stumbles more than likely would have left them on the outside looking in, with head coach Ryan Day’s seat scorching hot. Week 1 of the playoffs is in the books. Minnesota, Green Bay, LA Chargers, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, and Denver seasons come to an end. Baltimore had no trouble with Buffalo early in the year.Kansas City hosts Houston in a rematch of one of the few games KC didn’t win by less than a touchdown. Detroit hosts a hot Washington team that could give them a lot of problems. A healthy Detroit would easily win this game, but with their depleted defense, this one could be a shootout. Philadelphia will host the LA Rams in a rematch from earlier this year that Philadelphia won with ease.
